A Happy Amendment

i really should also give credit to the things that are good about this GD diet:

  • makes van healthier
  • makes van healthier
  • makes van healthier
  • makes me healthier
  • makes DH healthier
  • costs less at grocery store
  • prevents us from being tempted to eat out

seriously, though. i know this is best for van, and for that reason, i should not gripe at all.

random, but also serious, i had no idea how much more expensive junk/pre-packaged foods are than veggies. our grocery bill was 30 bucks cheaper this weekend, and that was with it also including laundry detergent, cat food, and wipes (these items usually make it a high bill). i'm guessing that if we hadn't needed those more expensive items, our bill might have been down 50 bucks! wow!

Yup yup! Our grocery bill is usually lower when I stick to just the veges fruits and bare necessities (read: no chips, no sodas, no crap) and we eat a lot better at home. The only thing that does cost a little more is olive oil, but it seems so worth it!
I'm so proud of you for sticking with the diet and making it work for you. I know Van will thank you later on in life. (and if he doesn't, I'll be sure to remind him!)
